With sunny skies 300 days a year, the weather is perfect for a round of golf, especially in the morning before the winds pick up. Because of the afternoon winds, many courses offer cheaper rates for afternoon tee times.

The Mauna Lani Resort features two excellent 18-hole golf courses – North Course and South Course – that consistently rank among the top golf courses in the state. Both courses offer unique challenges and great views of the ocean and volcanoes! The Mauna Lani resort currently hosts the Annual Hawaii State Open, and in the past (1990-2000) the South course hosted the PGA Tour’s Senior Skins Game – featuring Jack Nicklaus, Lee Trevino, Arnold Palmer, and other famous professional golfers!
These two golf courses wrap around the entire Mauna Lani resort area and are visible from several of our homes. Mauna Lani offers club and shoe rentals, as well as instructional sessions. Rates include shared golf cart.

This gorgeous ocean-side golf course is regarded by many to be the best on the Island of Hawaii! The oceanside hole number 3 is legendary – both for the challenge and for the seaside views! It consistently ranks as within the top 10 golf courses in Hawaii and often in the top 100 in America! Mauna Kea Resort is just 10-15 minutes north of our vacation homes in Mauna Lani. Shoes and clubs are available for rent. Rates include shared golf cart.
This scenic and well-maintained course is another excellent option within 15 minutes of Mauna Lani Resort. On a clear day at Hole 14, you can see a panoramic view of the ocean, Maui, Kohala Mountain, Mauna Kea, and Hualalai. Clubs and shoes are available for rent. Mauna Kea and Hapuna are next-door neighbours and there are options to purchase packages if you want to play both courses.
