Kokua Monthly Vendor Stroll

Ali’i Drive

Kokua Kailua Stroll brings the heart of Kailua Village to life every month! This much loved community event transforms Ali‘i Drive into a bustling pedestrian marketplace filled with over 100 local artisans, crafters, delicious island cuisine, and live entertainment. Kokua Kailua happens one Sunday each month from 1 pm to 6 pm and stretches from the Kailua Pier through Historic Kailua Village to Hualalai Road. Kona’s Historic Kailua Village closes to vehicular traffic and becomes a festive, pedestrian-only outdoor marketplace that makes for a fun family-friendly day.

Queen Lili’uokalani Birthday Celebration

Lili’uokalani Gardens, Hilo

Join Big Island residents in commemorating the birthday of Queen Liliʻuokalani, Hawaiʻi’s beloved last monarch. The event at Liliʻuokalani Gardens in Hilo, and typically held on the first saturday of september, includes hula performances, traditional Hawaiian games, lei making, music, and history exhibits celebrating her lasting legacy of peace and preservation of culture.
