NATURE TRAILS WILL LEAD YOU PAST WATERFALLS,
STREAMS AND TROPICAL RAINFOREST
IN THIS HEAVENLY VALLEY

Onomea Bay

Just north of Hilo on the Hamakua Coast lies Onomea Bay. Shaped by volcanoes, wind, waves, rain and tsunamis this valley and bay are one of the truly special places on the Big Island.

Founders

The Hawaii Tropical Botanical Garden was built out of the jungle in the 1970s by Dan and Pauline Lutkenhouse. Their dedication and many volunteers have created this piece of wonderful piece of Heaven.

Education

Bring your children to this “outdoor classroom” of living plants. Encourage them to take pictures and learn about all the wonders of nature!

We recommend contacting organisations directly to get the most up to date information about their operations.
