Below are annual events that are cancelled in 2021, but are expected to resume in 2022. Events will be marked as TBA until official 2022 dates are released.
Hilo Lei Day Festival
May TBA, 2022 – Kalakaua Park, Hilo
May Day is Lei Day in Hawaii! The celebration takes place annually on the 1st of May at Kalakaua Park in Hilo. The event is free and open to the public. Learn about Hawaiian history and the culture of the lei. The opening ceremonies feature oli and ho’okupu being made and ends with a group hula.
Honoka’a Western Week
May TBA, 2022 – Honoka’a
Enjoy a weeklong celebration of Hamakua’s paniolo heritage and culture. The week is filled with festivities for the whole family including a Paniolo Parade, block party, dancing, keiki (kids) games, and more!
Annual Farm Festival by Hamakua Harvest
May TBA, 2022 – Honoka’a
Hamakua Harvest hosts the Annual Farm Festival as part of Western Week. Enjoy food drink, local products, agricultural education sessions, music, hula, silent auction and activities for keiki.
Ka’u Coffee Festival
May TBA, 2022 – Pahala
This annual festival happens across a week and a half in May in and around Pahala. Enjoy coffee tastings, farm tours and local cuisine!
